The documentary film The Lost Son #268 is granted an OASE development funding by the Netherlands Film Fund.
The English Stanley Powton was found dead in December 2021, six to nine months after his death, in a homemade tent in the Lange Bretten park in Amsterdam. Only once did Powton hold his son Marcus in his arms and then disappeared from his life. Marcus searched for his father since 2014 but never managed to trace him down. From Marcus's perspective, and with an essayistic approach, the film takes the life story of Powton out of anonymity. The film explores intergenerational trauma and loneliness, the philosophical theme of free will versus the inevitable course of a life.
