Crows of the Sunday Pond (2013, video, 12:07 min)
For the young and fashionable teenager, spending time in Harajuku on the weekends is practically a necessity. Close to this shopping area the Yoyogi Park is situated, a garden that was made into a city park in 1967. Today, Yoyogi is a popular hangout, especially on Sundays, when it is used as a gathering place for people to play music, practice martial arts. This relatively quit, cultivated piece of nature, functions as a 'theatre stage' for it's visitors, were the youth dresses inspired by Gothic, Rock, Manga and Anime.
The work 'Crows of the Sunday Pond' introduces an extra 'stage tool' into the park: An Anime scene is created, where the screams of crows compete with city sounds of Tokyo.
This new work is part of the project 'Made in Tokyo'.
