In Newcastle, filming for the documentary titled 'The Lost Son #268,' alongside Marcus van Belkum.
Englishman Stanley Powton’s life took a tragic turn when he was discovered deceased in December 2021, half a year after his passing, inside an improvised tent within Amsterdam’s Lange Bretten park. Stanley had only held his son, Marcus, in his arms once before vanishing from his life entirely. Marcus had been on a quest to find his father since 2014, but his efforts had always come up empty. Through Marcus’s perspective and employing an essayistic approach, the film aims to bring Powton’s life story out of obscurity. The work delves into themes of intergenerational trauma, isolation, and the philosophical debate between free will and the predetermined course of one’s existence.
