Cindy Jansen's educational background includes graduation from the Academy of Visual Arts in Arnhem (Netherlands), Milan (Italy), and completion of the International Script Development and Directors Program at the Binger Filmlab in Amsterdam (Netherlands). Her works have been showcased at numerous national and international film festivals, including notable appearances in Hamburg, Rotterdam, and Edinburgh. Additionally, her videos and photographic pieces have been featured in various group and solo exhibitions, such as Loop '05 in Barcelona (Spain), the Noorderlicht Photo Festival in Groningen (Netherlands), and at the Gerhard Hofland Gallery in Amsterdam.

In the subsequent years, Jansen ventured into creating thought-provoking videos, including the controversial works "Don't Hit Me I Love You" and "With Love." Her documentary "Auld Lang Syne" premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) in 2015 and earned a Golden Calf nomination at the Netherlands Film Festival in the same year. Jansen's first full-length feature documentary, "Prince of Muck," had its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2021 and an international premiere at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam. The film was released in Dutch cinemas in 2022, and is available worldwide via Amazon Prime Video.
Currently, in collaboration with production company Witfilm, she is developing of the feature fiction film "Clockwork Universe” and the feature documentary “The Lost Son #268).

Jansen's body of work encompasses a wide range of films and videos, from non-linear narratives to fragmented artworks, with a presence in both the art scene and film festivals She is renowned for her distinctive cinematic approach characterised by meticulous framing, contemplative elements, and a deliberate, slow-burn editing style.
Her thematic focus involves a nuanced exploration of psychosocial topics, delving into areas such as intergenerational conflict and trauma, as well as an examination of the concept of free will.
